Wembley Arena: Catch a live music or comedy show at the OVO Arena Wembley (formerly SSE Arena), where some of the world’s biggest icons have graced the stage including The Rolling Stones, ABBA and The Beatles. Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre: Just a short walk from Wembley Park station, Wembley Park Theatre brings to life world-class plays and musicals in an ultra-cool venue. Round up your mates and head over for a show you won’t forget. 

Also worth visiting is the Wembley Temple, Shree Sanatan Hindu Mandir. It’s free to visit and the architecture is exquisite. Or if you’re an art lover, take a wander around the Wembley Park Art Trail and explore colourful murals and artworks from impressive artists around the world. 

 

Outdoor activities 

Located just on the outskirts of the big city, Wembley has loads of leafy green spaces for a breath of fresh air between your studies. Here are some of the top outdoor spaces in the area. 

Fryent Country Park: A large green park with rolling fields, meadows and woods. There’s lots of footpaths to follow and a lovely pond which is perfect for a waterside picnic. You’ll feel as though you’re in the countryside. 

King Edward VII Park: A great spot to take a scenic stroll or work up a sweat. There are football pitches, tennis courts, bowling greens and an outdoor gym, if you’re up for it.  

The Brent Reservoir: Also known as the Welsh Harp, this waterside spot is a wonderful local gem, perfect for nature walks. See how many birds you can spot or simply relax and enjoy the stunning views.  

Shopping

A little retail therapy never hurt nobody. Here are some of the best Wembley outlet stores for a food and fashion haul. 

London Designer Outlet: Level up your wardrobe for less. With up to 70% off designer brands all year round, this shopping centre is a big hit for uni students. Don’t forget to carry your student ID to snag even bigger discounts in select stores. 

Wembley Central: Right by Wembley Central tube station, this is a great spot to pick up a few bits on your way back home, with high street shops like Argos, TK Maxx and more. 

Elsewhere, there’s a nearby Sainsbury, Lidl, ASDA and Tesco for your weekly food shop. Keep an eye out for daily meal deals. You can usually grab a sandwich, soft drink and snack for around £3.50 – just look out for the ‘meal deal’ stickers in store. Or, if your student budget is a little stretched, pop into Poundland to pick up some snacks, stationery, and household goodies for a little over £1. 

 

Getting around

Just tap in using your contactless card and you can be at the world-famous Baker Street in 12 mins on the Metropolitan Line or the spectacular West End in under 20 mins on the Jubilee Line. You can also travel directly into Kings Cross St Pancras station which has great train links across the UK and Europe.
